First, what is Memoryman doing? The mind responds by conjuring up the association of Memoryman holding a boat. Therefore, boat is the first item. Continue asking yourself what each item is doing. What is the boat doing? It is smashing into some oranges. Thus, you have the next item on the list, orange. Next, "What is the orange doing?" It is stuffing itself down the lamp. "What is the lamp doing?" That is right it is falling on a pile of ties. "What are the ties doing?" They are laying all over a chair. "What is the chair doing?" It is bouncing on the hangers. "What are the hangers doing?" They are playing the violin. And finally, "What is the violin doing?" It is smashing the pipe. This completes the list: boat, orange, lamp, tie, chair, hanger, violin and pipe. Now try recalling the list on your own. To recall the items backwards, simply start with the last item, pipe, and ask what is being done to the pipe. It is being hit by a violin. What is being done to the violin? The hangers are playing it, and so on. Now that you have taken the free lesson you have come to realize the power of using your mind properly. Just like a computer used with powerful software results in tremendous things happening, so too, your mind used with a powerful methodology allows you to reap all of the rewards the life has to offer. This is only the beginning of the journey. To get better and better at memory the most important way to do that is to involve other friends, family and co-workers in the science of memory. Yes, by improving other peoples memory you can improve your own. That's how I got started. When I first fell in love with the art of memory I started teaching others and that's how I got better and finally wound up as MemoryMan. So, take this free lesson and e-mail it to at least 9 family members, friends or coworkers and turn them onto the power of this knowledge. After you have e-mailed to them, consult with them and test each other to see how well each of you are doing and compare the ways that you have made your associations Then take the next level, which is coming up with 9 things that you have learned in life, making those things into pictures and then making another list and comparing each other's lists. Of course most of the things we have to remember are not in picture form, they are intangible. By intangible, I mean, not readily visible. This data consists of words, numbers, and symbols. Since knowledge or data is not tangible we must learn to make all things tangible (it's easy) and this is why you need to acquire the Memoryman Memory Improvement Course. Then you will be able to remember with great speed and accuracy any subject such as: Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Genetics, etc.), Math, History, English and other languages, Law, Medicine, and other areas of knowledge. It is software for the piece of hardware called your human mind, your memory. We have approached a memory problem in a systematic way by using creativity, organization, and visualization. The Memoryman System is creative in that we make creative pictures. It is organized because we associate these creative ideas, linking the pieces of information together. It is visual because we use our visual ability, our mind's eye, to see these associations. Using these processes, we are able to memorize and recall far more effectively than by using our natural memory alone. And as we persist, our skills improve. Consider some of the characteristics of a good association. First, our visualization goes in a general left to right direction. For instance, the lamp was falling into the ties left to right. Or, hangers (on the left) were playing the violin which was on the right side of the picture. Be aware that we deal with and associate only two pieces of information at a time. We associated Memoryman to the boat, the boat to the orange, etc., two at a time. The simplicity of this technique helps to keep the images clear in the mind's eye, and that's why it works. |
